However, to put all you bloggers out there at ease, here is something I did find that will make your heads rest a bit easier;

Clarification came from Panasonic UK to squash rumours. And It’s not what you might think. So here goes – the 1200MK5 and 1210MK5 WILL be discontinued leaving the 1210MK5G as the top of the range and most definitely NOT discontinued. It never was a limited edition, just a flagship special edition model. And the 1200 and 1210 MK2 will continue as normal. So now there’s some distance between the MK2 and MK5G models instead having a middle MK5 deck to confuse matters. So it’s vanilla Technics or the more expensive piano black extra pitched blue light luxury model left in the range.

I have scoured the internet looking for some sort of truth to this rumor. Being an owner of Mk2′s, and an avid turntablist, it strikes the very core of my soul and my love for all types of music. With that, I have found nothing in the way of formal statements from Panasonic suggesting that they have discontinued the production of Technics SL – 1200 / 1210′s. I would like to challenge the person who created this blog to provide some sort of substantial proof that this product is no longer being manufactured.

The Technics 1200′s will be discontinued this Feburary. Personally I have upgraded(?) to the pioneer CDJ-800 mkII’s.
